Swede Recipes for the not so keen!

by on January 8, 2013

Well it appears that our old friend the swede will be making another appearance in the next veg bag. The dreadful weather in 2012 is showing at the markets now and choice is getting very limited, and so much more expensive. We’ve had some colourful debates in the Directors meetings – seems you love ’em, or you don’t!! Julie doesn’t….

So, some ideas for what to do with them for those not so keen:-

It’s Burns Night on 25 Jan – what better way to have haggis than with mashed potatoes and mashed swede and carrot (with butter and cream).

Root veg dauphionoise – our very own swede hating Julie recommended this – with swede! She had it out at a restaurant recently. Just follow recipe using swede for potatoes…..

Nigel Slater has a swede and parmesan cake recipe on the internet – go on, be the first to try it and let us know what it’s like!!

Happy swede-ing – and let us know your own recipes!
