Green leaves: Recipe Links

Chard LeavesI’ve just read that our ancestors ate up to 6 pounds of green leaves a day! I won’t get to see this weeks crop share until tomorrow but I’m told it is full of lovely green leaves, so its just as well our constitutions are prepared for it! I may have said this before but it really is in the forefront of my mind at the moment – nearly all of vegetables that we buy at this time of year are stored (or transported from other countries) so really the opportunity of a load of fresh as you like leaves is a huge boon! If you are in any doubt about the benefits have a look at this weblink. And if you are wondering what to do with them here are a couple of starters: for mustard greens click this link, and for really simple mizuna recipe have a look here.
