Scarecrow Competition – 5th March 2016

Scarecrow competitionEvery year we grow tons of delicious vegetables in our fields near Ovington but unfortunately the birds think they are delicious too! Can you make a scarecrow to help us scare the birds away?

We would like scarecrows that:
Are made from recycled materials
Will be scary for the birds (shiny, noisy, moving etc)
Can stand up to the strong winds on our fields
Are characters from books to link with World Book Day

How to enter
Decide on your character and fill in the form on the attached flyer
Return your form to the address below by Saturday 26th February
Bring your scarecrow to the field 10-11am on Saturday 5th March with 50p entrance fee
Join in with some craft activities and have yummy refreshments
Judging will take place at 11am, first prize a signed book by local author Kim Lewis

EVERYONE welcome to enter – adults, children or groups!

NEW for this year – why not write a story about a scarecrow for us to display on the day? (maximum 200 words)

So – how to enter?
Download the Annual Scarecrow Competition 2016 (you will need Adobe Reader to open this) which has the entry form and instructions on it! Download it, print it off and do what the instructions say. Good luck everyone!
