What happened at the Growers’ Question Time

by on April 9, 2016

The Growers Question Time TeamKate Slade who grows organic vegetables for Battlesteads at Wark, Mark Lamb who works for the horticultural department of Newcastle City Council, Tom Martin from Tom and Joe’s Wylam Nursery and Ian Todd of Go Local Ovington made up the panel.

They were faced with a number of interesting and varied questions. Companion planting led on to crop rotation. Getting a young wisteria to bloom and knowing when horse manure is ready to use came up. And two distressed plants came in so that the team could suggest what might be done to help them.

The audience certainly kept the team on the go and it seems that the event was enjoyed by all.
