A little biodiversity

by on April 12, 2016

Blackbird NestThree years ago a quail nested near one of the poly tunnels. Last year a robin nested in one of the poly tunnels. This year a blackbird is nesting on one of the IBC tanks we use for storing water.

Unfortunately this is the tank that needs replacing as it has a hole in it. Which can’t be done until the blackbird has fledged all the chicks.

However, good news on the pigeon front. There’s a local sparrow hawk on patrol around the Go Local Fields which seems to be an excellent deterrent.
