Lots of peppers

by on May 22, 2016

Big Jim ChilisIt’s time for peppers and chillis to go into the Go Local Food poly tunnels. Lots of peppers and chillis.

Mohawk peppers – produces a huge crop of small, block-shaped green fruits which ripen to a bright yellow

Cute Red Stuff Peppers – mini variety of sweet pepper. Cute apple shape is great for small-size recipes

Apache Peppers – produces a heavy crop of 2-3inch green peppers that mature to bright red all over the plant and is a hot one

Cayenne Peppers – a great chilli, producing good crops of slender chilli peppers that will certainly spice up your culinary life

Celicia Peppers – is a sweet pepper variety which comes milder than the hot ones we have in the poly tunnels so probably a bit of relief for those who aren’t into the hot chilli type

Big Jim Peppers – milder but bigger

Sweet Banana Peppers – named for its banana-like shape, this variety bears sweet, mild peppers that mature from yellow, to orange, and then to crimson red

One Naga pepper is being grown from a plant supplied by a Go local Food member – think that is a special and not for sharing though …
