Visitors from South Tyne Sustainability

by on July 6, 2016

gardenerLast Saturday (July 2nd), we had a group of visitors from South Tyne Sustainability come to look at what we do on the Grow Local Food site at Ovington. They drank coffee in the shed which is now nearly complete but still a bit draughty and talked to Ian about what we do.

The visit was part of their 2016 programme of visits to edible gardens in the area – places such as the community garden at Hexham Middle School and the Wylam Community Orchard are included as well as Apple Days and Harvest Markets in the area. The programme aims to encourage everyone from novices to green fingered experts to become involved in the grow your own and local produce movement.
