Artisan Bakery at Wylam library

wylam old schoolEvery Saturday morning Wylam’s volunteer bakers run a pop-up shop in the foyer of the village library.

This is the group that bakes the bread that you can order to collect with your Go Local Food crop share on a Friday evening or Saturday morning.

Recently their planning application was processed by Northumberland County Council and they have a few surmountable hurdles to get over before getting full approval to expand their baking operation into the old school kitchen on site.

A historic day for them was receiving their first full pallet delivery of forty 25 kilo bags of organic flour to the library from Shipton Mill. More power to their muscles for moving it from the gate to the kitchen!

It’s so good to know that Go Local Food is helping to support another community project which in turn is supporting a local library in a small village. So please do continue to order bread to go with your crop share to support another local business.
