Go Local Food has black Tuscany kale, purple sprouting broccoli, chard and lettuce all ready to plant out. Approximately 45 coriander seedlings have been potted on as well.
There are butternut squashes beginning to appear and also spaghetti squash. This looks good for the future crops shares then.
It’s now the time of the year to look at preparing beds for winter garlic and winter onions to be sown. Gosh – it’s August already.
The weeds are alive and well and growing lustily – could have been the latest rain. The wet weather recently has also bulked up some of the crops like peas as well as helping the sweetcorn to put on a growth spurt.
