Under the guidance of Ruth from Sylvan Skills last Saturday, our group of keen willow workers constructed the frame of a person and dressed him or her. You had better look at all the pictures to see who you think it is but it has no resemblance to Worzel Gummidge the famous scarecrow that is for certain.
We added a face – nice looking willow eyes
The group then added a skirt – must be a lady this willow sculpture
There was the weaving of garments – scarf and apron?
And finally when all the work was put together we took the figure out to the field to join the willow hedge. We look forward to seeing what happens to our work in the future.
