Go Local Food’s spring planting this week

by on April 21, 2017

vegetablesIan, our grower, ran out the list faster almost than I could write it down while he was picking kale for the crop share!

400 Brussel sprout plant out in the ground

150 red cabbages planted out

150 green cabbages planted out

70 cauliflowers planted out

50 metres of peas planted out

150 metres of broad beans planted out

50 metres of parsnips planted out

150 metres of beetroot planted out

All  in a day’s work he says but it sounds good and it’s all going towards crop shares for our members. The work shares have really been busy this week.

May the rain come as necessary, the weather be kind and the pests leave everything for us to harvest.
