The season is moving on. Grow Local Food already has 50 courgettes and 50 marrows showing through in the working poly tunnel. But these will never be enough for the crop shares this summer.
It’s time to sow more courgettes and marrows as well as pumpkins (yes we do mean pumpkins), French beans and runner beans. That’s the first job for next week then.
The first of the raised beds created by the volunteers at the last All Hands Saturday has been planted up and we are hoping for spring onions (proper spring onions says Ian the grower) all being well and the weather being kind.
It didn’t take long to make use of the space then did it? But that’s what we want the extra space for – to grow more vegetables for the crop shares.
