The rabbits who broke through the rabbit proof fence have eaten all the red cabbages that have been sown outside. The covers blew off in the wind and the rabbits obviously thought yum, yum let’s eat up all the Go Local Food’s cabbage. That’s another job to add to the list – a second sowing of red cabbage. As well as mending the not rabbit proof fencing.
Unfortunately the blackbird fledglings didn’t survive – one day they were there and the next they were not. It looks as if one of the many other wild life creatures that pass through the Go Local Food fields thought that they were a tasty snack when no-one was looking.
It could have been rats, stoats, weasels, jays or even the local large black cat that appears and catches unwary rabbits and pigeons.
