Sunday 24th September, 1 – 4 p.m.
Will you have a glut of early apples? Why not come and make some fresh juice, which can be drunk and/or frozen? Has the chilli plant you were given at the Growers’ Question Time done you proud and is it fit to win a prize?
Together with Wylam Community Orchard we have hired an Apple Press. Bring your apples (checking any windfalls are not too bruised), some empty plastic bottles and make some juice.
We hope to have a pasteuriser on site, for this little extra there will be a small fee.
And what of the chillis? Back in May at Growers Question Time, participants were handed a chilli plant, with the promise that there would be a prize later in the year for the best plant!! You may not have been at Question Time but you may be growing chillis… Anyone is welcome to take part. Simply bring your plant along, by 2 pm – judging will take place at 2.30 pm.
There will be an opportunity for a guided tour of the fields for those who have not visited us before and of course the kettle will be on. We hope to see you on the fields at Ovington – find us next to the Halls of Heddon nursery heading out of Ovington towards the A69.
