On Wednesday afternoon this week Ian and the work shares were running ahead of the forecast bad weather to lift the last of the Go Local Food potato crop before the edge of Storm Caroline arrived in the area. With the forecast of high winds, dropping temperatures, heavy rain and maybe snow this job had to be done while there was even a chance of decent weather. The experience of last Thursday with it’s sudden fall of snow was a real warning that winter is upon us.
And with the crop of Orla potatoes being good to excellent we want to be including these in the weekly crop shares. So fingers crossed that lifting succeeded.
