Selling surplus food

A small, start up chain of supermarkets in Denmark is selling foods that have passed their “best before” dates, as well as products that haven’t passed quality control.

The chain that is small, but growing, is called Wefood. It opened its first branch in 2016 and will open its third next year. A telling comment from one of the volunteers there thinks that we buy too much food at a time and just throw it out. That’s a sad statement but people who are prepared to shop at this store for immediate use be in pocket cash wise by being prepared to take food for immediate use.
