Four partridges were interested in pulling up the broad beans! Our grower had a word with them to deter them. Long time since we have seen partridges on the Go Local Food fields though. The male blackbirds are marking out their territories – they too are know for pulling out plants to look for worms so the broad beans could come out again.
However the many thrushes that have appeared are welcome visitors as they are takers of slugs and snails. A green and environmentally friendly pest control if ever.
