Go Local Food has Scarecrows!

scarecrow1 2018What an amazing ‘crop’ (ho ho) of scarecrows appeared on our fields! Many thanks to Castle First School students and their parents, and of course the Growing Gang – a beautifully made scary skeleton was our overall winner – though everyone was a winner!

Amongst this year’s crop, we have Rapunzel with a very lovely plait, a very ingenious crayon, a black cat, a dalmatian and a fairly frightening pirate… The scarecrows are working in the broad beans, guarding the beans and also working guarding the Growing Gangs peas. Thanks are also due to our donor for prizes and Forum Books, Corbridge (once again) for their support.
