The grower and work shares at Go Local Food are sowing the last of the seeds from the end of August – it’s warm and sunny so things are starting off quickly. Oriental greens, late lettuce and brassicas to replace the tomatoes and cucumbers when cleared out of the poly tunnels.
The planting out of last month’s sowings and ground preparation for some late chard also continues- so long as the weather stays good.
There’s the separating of this year’s compost from last year’s on the cold heap outside on the fields – a tractor job there. This should provide more compost for various beds when completed.
