The autumn planning is well under way. The clearing of beds for planting up winter onions is the latest job to be added to the list. 25 kg of over wintering onions are on order to be planted later on in the season. But first the beds must be cleared and prepared. Plans are to grow them through the biodegradable membrane that we now use at Go Local Food to help with keeping down the weeding.
Some will be planted in pots in the poly tunnels to be planted out in January or February. This is belt and braces to ensure that some survive whatever the winter throws at the fields.
