In September at Growing Gang we had a bumper harvest of kale, spinach and some rather large beetroots! We thought about what we wanted to grow next year and planned with Ian when we can grow things and how we can manage the crop rotation of our beds. In lieu of being able to get started on our greenhouse/cold store (please keep bringing us your plastic bottles), we got creative and made ourselves a logo out of things we found on the GO Local site. It was a great chance to test our problem solving skills and flex our artistic muscles.
In October we will be hopefully building our greenhouse/cold store. We will also be taking part in the pumpkin carving competition. As it is the last growing gang of the year, we will be harvesting the last of the crops, clearing the beds in preparation for winter and planting out winter onions and strawberries ready for 2019. Please come along and join us, but don’t forget to bring your adult/parent along too.
