Go Local Food’s wild life at the end of October

Wild RabbitGo Local Food has wild life in excess at the moment. The rabbits are rioting – the wind has been blowing off the anti pest netting. Result is that said rabbits have eaten two rows of pak choi.

The rats are back looking for a warm home for the winter; the moles are all over the field but less trouble than in the poly tunnels. The partridge family has been in the poly tunnel again and trying to leave through the roof when disturbed but that doesn’t work well at all.

The no dig beds need weeding – there seems to be a good crop of annual summer nettles from somewhere. These are easy to pull out but you do need sturdy gloves as they have a venomous sting.
