The Propagator Shed

leggy seedlingsThe propagator shed is working too well.

Six trays of brassica seedlings were planted and shot up extremely some two inches high in four days. Maxine at Halls of Heddon has taken them to a cool, sunny place where the temperature is above freezing and will care for them. Thanks for saving these seedlings Maxine. The poly tunnels are too cold at the moment so your help is much appreciated.

And even the leeks have put in an appearance after only five days.

Grower Ian was busy rearranging seed trays one morning this week to slow things down a little in the propagator shed. But he needs to get a start on the crops that take sixty days to mature to picking. That’s a long growing on period.
